"Buran" orbital spacecraft system for attaching and deploying on-board manipulators (SADBM)


SADBM was intended for mechanical and electric integration of the board manipulators with a glider load-carrying structure of the "Buran" orbital spacecraft and fixing-defixing of the on-board manipulator, as well as turn their into operating position and transport position.

Installation of SADBM support units and manipulator in payload compartment of orbital vehicle and mechanical coupling of SADBM support units with the airframe boom and on-board manipulator:
1 - root unit, 2 - sholder support unit, 3 - elbow support unit, 4 - hand support unit, 5 - strap holders, 6 - SADBM control unit, 7 - on-board network, 8 - on-board manipulator, 9 -transit cable of manipulator, 10 - communication with control complex of orbital vehicle, 11 - airframe longeron
